Sunbrella upholstery fabrics cleaning instructions video
One of the best ways to keep Sunbrella fabrics looking good and to delay deep or vigorous cleanings is to properly maintain the fabrics. This can be accomplished by simply brushing off dirt before it becomes embedded in the fabrics, wiping up spills as soon as they occur or spot cleaning soon after stains occur.
This chart contains our recommended cleaning methods of Sunbrella® fabric for some of the most common and toughest stains.
Aluminum Furniture
Care Instructions
Aluminum Frames
To maintain a beautiful luster on a gloss finish, wax it with an automotive-type wax once or twice a year. Do not wax matte finishes. Scuffs on either finish can be removed with a mild cleanser such as Soft-Scrub.
Cushions
Wash with detergent and water. Rinse thoroughly. Stand cushions on their sides for quicker drying.
Acrylic Fabrics
Solution Dyed. Use a solution of mild detergent and water to remove stubborn dirt and mildew. Scrub with a soft brush and rinse thoroughly.
Prints. Use a solution of mild detergent and water. Do NOT use bleach. Use of bleach invalidates the fabric warranty.
Fabrics & Vinyl-Coated Polyester
Solution Dyed. Use a solution of mild detergent and water. Use a soft brush and rinse thoroughly. Use of bleach is okay.
Sling
Clean with a solution of mild detergent and water. Bleach may be used on solution dyed acrylics and polyesters. Do not use bleach for prints on padded slings.
Sling
Use a solution of mild detergent and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners. Wax or spray with a vinyl cleaner to enhance appearance. Suntan oils and lotions may permanently stain vinyl straps. Bleach may be used.
Tilt-Swivel Mechanisms and Glider Arms
Lubricate twice per year using 3 in 1 Oil or a similar fluid. WD40 works if applied more frequently.
Plastic Feet
All of our furniture have nylon glides. Replace them when they become worn to protect the furniture and the floor.
Tempered Glass Tops
Use commercial window cleaner.
Acrylics Tops
Soap and water only. Do Not use Windex or ammonia.
Freezing Conditions
Before storing furniture in freezing conditions, all water should be drained from the frames. Freeze damage will split aluminum and is not covered by our warranty.
Umbrellas
Close umbrellas when not in use. Lubricate the moving parts with WD40. Clean fabrics the same as cushions.
These void the warranty
Do Not!
Use abrasives or harsh chemicals on frames, straps or cushions. Bleach allowed to stay on frames may cause permanent damage to the finish.
Do Not! Immerse furniture or cushions in swimming pools to remove mildew.
